School nurses can help your children with their emotional health, self esteem, poor sleep and advice around puberty. They have a School Nursing Advice Line helpline 07813451034 (Monday to Friday 9 am -4.30 pm)
Counselling: All local schools offer counselling within the school. Further external counselling is available through self referral to the CLD trust or by phone on 01432 269245
Parenting Support: The Herefordshire council website has excellent information on support available locally. This includes an early help and advice team. This confidential service is open to all families living in Herefordshire, with a child or children aged 0 to 18 years, or up to 25 years old for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The friendly and professional team will listen to your concerns and offer advice and support to help you and your family. Their number is 01432 260261, with more information on the website here.
There are also parenting courses which come strongly recommended by the CAMHS service.
Health visitors: The health visitor advice line provides parents/carers of 0-5 year olds in Herefordshire with advice from the health visiting team about a child’s health or development. Parents and carers can seek advice about a wide range of topics such as breastfeeding, bottle feeding, sleep, toileting, behaviour, eating, minor injuries/ailments, parenting support and much more.
The health visitor advice line is managed by a Health Visitor and runs Monday-Friday 9am-4pm (excluding bank holidays and weekends). If you leave a message outside of these hours we will respond within one working day and if at weekends/bank holidays this will be our next working day.
